Vickie Oakes joins BAD Team

The news of our event reaches all corners of Maine. Victoria Oakes, who is an artisan of Rangeley in Western Maine, was reading about Jacob and the 2005 B.A.D. Ride nd became a B.A.D. Committee member and a B.A.D. Rider Several of Victoria’s family members and friends have diabetes and sadly, some have lost their lives from diabetes complications. When Victoria was fifteen, she was diagnosed with Type 1 Juvenile Diabetes. Thirty- four years later, she still maintains an optimistic attitude for a better tomorrow. Numerous research advancements to find a cure for diabetes have continuously improved the quality of life for her over the years. The technology discovered by J.D.R.F. has actually reversed some of her diabetes complications. She continues with the team as a 2006 B.A.D. Committee member and will be a participating B.A.D. Rider again on July 23, 2006 to help fundraising for future diabetes research.
